Global Partner Solutions’ first assignment was conducting a sustainability maturity assessment. This assessment established the starting point for identifying issues and opportunities for improving the company’s environmental performance.
Activities:
With the support of Global Partner Solutions, Giolong International familiarized itself with the basic concepts of sustainable development, defined the company’s contribution to reducing its environmental footprint, and demonstrated its commitment to its employees and external stakeholders.
A Global Partner Solutions sustainability expert took charge of the process, facilitating the assessment of strengths and weaknesses along four main axes: governance, economic, environmental, and social. This assessment identified the priority sustainable development issues for the company’s stakeholders. The visual depiction of the results in a relevance matrix will serve as a valuable reference tool for years to come, especially during future revisions of the corporate strategy.
Implementing concrete sustainable development actions was essential to mobilize the Giolong International work team. We proceeded to prioritize the action plan according to the team’s capacity and the importance of the issues to internal and external stakeholders. The company confirmed its commitment by completing the sustainable development framework. Giolong International has backed up its sustainability commitments with three principles of sustainable development established by the United Nations.
Results:
Employee mobilization marked a significant outcome of this initiative. Employees saw the seriousness of the approach through various communications and the signing of management’s commitment to the sustainable development framework. Identifying sustainable development objectives will influence employees and customers to opt for eco-responsible practices.
Shantala joined GPSI’s team in 2022, following her post-graduate diploma in Environmental Management. She is responsible for the ESG Division and the corporate social responsibility strategy. Before joining GPSI, she held several management positions at Bombardier Aerospace as well as Galderma, a company operating in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. She has more than 15 years of experience in procurement, logistic, and production planning. The environment and sustainable development are undoubtedly her greatest passions.
